I have an asset in Georgia I am looking to purchase. The original mtg/note was created in 1999. It was trasnferred in 2000, 2005, 2012 (3x) and now the asset is being offered to me. All of the transfers are recorded except the 2005. The collateral file has the 2005 assignment and allonge and the assignment is signed and notarized. I contacted the county and verified they have all the assignments recorded except the 2005 one.
My question:
* Can I simply record this 2005 assignment and have a legal chain of title?
